The Bonini lab is focused on studies of genes involved in neurodegenerative disease and the stress response. Recent work has included studies of epitranscriptomic modifications associated with the brain upon acute stress, with disease and with age, the most prominent risk factor of neurodegenerative disease. The lab uses the model organism Drosophila to study the brain and these diseases.
