Penn Institute for RNA Innovation Seminar Series

June 8, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Speaker: Neil King, PhD
Assistant Professor, Biochemistry and Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington

Title–“Computational design of antigens and nanoparticle vaccines”

His group uses computational protein design to create new protein-based technologies for applications in targeted delivery and structure-based vaccine design. Three nanoparticle vaccines from Dr. King’s group (for SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and RSV) have recently entered clinical trials, with the nanoparticle vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 recently becoming the first computationally designed protein medicine approved for use in humans.
